Collectable Katana Midnight Bamboo Sanmai Steel Clay Tempered Purple Saya 竹影

Collectable Katana Midnight Bamboo | Sanmai Steel Clay Tempered Blade | Polished Edge | Purple Gloss Lacquer Saya | Genuine Rayskin

This Midnight Bamboo katana is forged in sanmai construction, with a hardened steel core encased by softer outer layers for an ideal blend of sharpness and resilience. The blade displays a straight grain pattern and a clean suguha hamon, brought out through traditional clay tempering. Forged in the classic shinogi-zukuri style with a ridged spine and an extended tip, it balances elegance with performance.

The mountings feature an elliptical copper tsuba adorned with a carved bamboo motif, finished in a rich black patina. The fuchi and kashira are blackened copper with refined simplicity, while silver bamboo-leaf menuki lie subtly beneath the wrap. The handle is bound in deep blue cotton over unbleached ray skin with hishigami inserts, forming a striking diamond pattern for both beauty and secure grip.

The hardwood scabbard is finished with a deep purple lacquer, reinforced at the mouth, end, and knob with buffalo horn fittings. A dark purple cotton cord is tied to the kurigata, completing this elegant and cohesive design.

Swords holder or stand sold separately.
