This Midnight Surge katana is hand-forged in a traditional Maru construction using high-performance modern steel. The blade displays a graceful notare-style hamon, polished to reveal its flowing wave-like pattern. The tsuba features an elegant openwork crane motif, crafted from iron with a darkened patina finish that balances strength and lightness.
The fuchi-kashira are made of white copper, delicately decorated with wave designs, while the copper habaki provides a smooth transition between the blade and its fittings. The menuki, also in polished white copper, add a subtle touch of refinement beneath the handle wrap.
The handle is wrapped in black cotton over natural ray skin, with carefully formed diamond patterns that enhance both grip and aesthetics.
