This katana Pale Moon is meticulously hand-forged from high-carbon modern steel in the traditional Maru construction, combining strength with sharpness. The blade is clay-tempered, creating a refined straight suguha hamon that embodies timeless elegance.
The koshirae is crafted with great attention to detail: a Musashi-style iron tsuba with a bold blackened double-ring openwork design; polished white copper fuchi-kashira for a touch of sophistication; and a darkened copper alloy habaki for balance and durability. The menuki feature a striking sword-and-dragon motif, finely blackened and polished to enhance depth and contrast.
The tsuka is wrapped with ivory cotton ito over genuine ray skin, forming a precise diamond pattern that offers both beauty and secure grip. The saya is finished in a deep crimson lacquer, strengthened with water buffalo horn fittings at stress points, combining durability with elegance. An ivory synthetic sageo completes the mounting, bringing together refinement, tradition, and authority in one exceptional piece.
